Uli W. Fricke, Managing General Partner, Founder

Investment and Finance Management, Business Development and Marketing/Sales

Previously Managing Partner of an international insurance company, Uli sold this business successfully in a cross-Atlantic transaction, realizing a triple-digit multiple for a business which has been break even from day one. Prior to that she was Managing Director of a mid-size customer service company which specialized in international travel operation.

Uli completed her study of Business Administration at the University of Applied Sciences Worms at the age of 21.

   

Dr. Bernd Geiger, Managing General Partner, Founder

Software Technologies, Physical Technologies - R&D, Business Development and Marketing/Sales

Previously at Carl Zeiss, Bernd was head of marketing and sales in the clinical microscopy and lab segment. Before that engagement, he was project manager at university spin-off Leica Lasertechnik, where he developed next-generation laser scanners, leading a global development team. Bernd previously performed extensive research work at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) in the interdisciplinary field of medical imaging.

Bernd studied Physics in Berlin, Ypsilanti/Michigan and Heidelberg. He completed his PhD in Natural Sciences at the University of Heidelberg.

   

Wiebke Passmann, Partner

Investment Manager

Wiebke joined the Triangle team in November 2005 as Junior Investment Manager after a six-month internship at Triangle.

Prior to that, Wiebke studied International Business Studies with a focus on Finance and Banking at the University of Paderborn in Germany and the University of Zaragoza in Spain. During her studies she was already involved in a six-month project at RAG Coal International, Essen during an internship and was chairperson of the student group of IBS at the University of Paderborn.

She concluded her studies with a final thesis on "The specific requirements of the risk management process in the Venture Capital Industry."

   

Dr. Xin Chen, Investment Manager

Investment Manager

Before joining Triangle, Xin was pursuing her PhD study at the Graduate School "Information Management and Market Engineering" and at the Institute of Information Systems and Management, University of Karlsruhe, Germany. Her research focuses on the competition between marketplaces, especially in the area of e-commerce.

Prior to that, Xin had worked in several research projects related to Grid Computing, and had received a Master of Engineering degree in Computer Sciences from the University of Science and Technology of China, Shanghai, China.

   

Marc Nueckles, Financial Analyst

Finance and Administration

Marc is responsible for finance, controlling and reporting, as well as for providing finance and reporting advise to the portfolio companies. He joined the Triangle investment team in 2009. Prior to that, Marc was working as a consultant for the deal services practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Marc received a master in economics from the University of Duisburg-Essen, Germany.

  Prof. Cramer is an expert in multimedia applications in the telecommunication industry. At the University of Applied Sciences, he contributes his extended industry experience gained at IBM, Mannesmann and RWE, to turn technologies into commercially viable applications.
   

Dr. K. Ebetshuber

Formerly with McKinsey, Burda, Braas
Business Strategies
  Dr. Ebetshuber is an expert in business strategies and operations and has in-depth industry know-how. Through his previous engagements at Bertelsmann, Dornier, Matuschka, McKinsey, Burda and Braas, he developed an extensive network within the German industry.
   

Dr. F. P. Gauper

Medical Device Markets
  Through his more than 25 years in industrial life, Dr. Gauper has acquired broad and deep know-how of all facets of the medical device industry. He has always worked on the interface between corporate R&D and academic research. He worked for Goedecke AG, Byk-Mallinckrodt AG, Becton, Dickinson and Company, and lately for Immersion Corporation the industry leader activities for virtual reality medical simulations.
   

J. Kreisel

  Mr. Kreisel specializes in technology commercialization with a strong focus on commercial space for more than 20 years. He had also worked in the venture capital industry during the 1990s. Today his firm JKIC advises space institutions, industry, SMEs and selected investors worldwide using his proprietary global network of leading expertise. He is member of the European Private Equity & Venture Capital Association, EVCA, as well as of the American Institute for Aeronautics & Astronautics, AIAA, and the German Aerospace Association DGLR. In addition he is lecturer at two international post-graduate master degree programs.
   

Prof. Dr. H.-J. Mueller

  Prof. Mueller specializes in agent systems, simulations and computational intelligence. Currently he is a Professor at the University of Cooporative Education Mannheim. He also heads the Knowledge Engineering and Management chapter of BITKOM (German Association for Information Technology, Telecommunication and New Media). Previously he was with Deutsche Telekom, the University of Bremen, the University of Kaiserslautern and the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence. He serves and gives advise to many scientific and industry association committees.
   

Prof. Dr. H. Salzwedel

  Prof. Salzwedel heads the Department of Systems and Control Theory at the University of Ilmenau. He is an expert in the design of CAE (computer aided engineering) tools. Previously he was with the University of Munich, Stanford University, Cadence Design, Comdisco Systems, Systems Control Technology, Volkswagen and Airbus.

  Formerly being responsible for HR at Siemens Nixdorf and Leica, Diederich Seckelmann gained tremendous insight into high tech industries and the people dynamics behind. Since several years he has his own consulting firm focusing on organisation optimization.

  Prof. Seeger is an expert in optical sensor technologies. He currently serves as Director of the Institute of Physical Chemistry at the University of Zurich and previously was a Professor at the University of Regensburg. He collaborates with national and international research groups.
   

Dr. G. Seikel

  Dr. Seikel is a specialist in corporate and tax law. He has been a partner with GSK since 1999. Among GSK's partners are also former Federal Minister of Finance Dr. Waigel and former Federal Minister of Telecommunications Dr. Boetsch.
   

Prof. Dr. R. Studer

  Prof. Studer is a director of the Institute of Applied Informatics and Formal Description Methods (AIFB) at the University of Karlsruhe and of the Department of Knowledge Management of the FZI Research Center of Information Technology, Karlsruhe. Previously he was with the University of Stuttgart and IBM. He collaborates on research activities with the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence, Stanford University, the Free University of Amsterdam, the University of Innsbruck and many more.

  Mr. Wolff is a tax advisor in international taxation, with primary focus on company tax law. He was a partner at Ernst & Young, where he consulted global clients in the IT, pharmaceutical, chemical, and engineering industry.
Mr. Wolff serves as member of the investor's committee for Fund I, II and III.
   

Prof. Dr. L. Wolf

Software Technologies, Telecommunications Industry
  Prof. Wolf is an expert in computer networking and distributed multimedia systems. He is Head of the Institute of Operating Systems and Computer Networks at the Technical University of Braunschweig. Prior to that he was at the Universities of Karlsruhe and Darmstadt and worked as a research staff member at IBM.
   

Prof. Dr. J. Wolfrum

  Prof. Wolfrum is a renowned expert in the application of lasers. He currently serves as a director at the Institute of Physical Chemistry, University of Heidelberg. He is a member of various academic advisory boards and writes expert opinions for the German Research Foundation, the VW Foundation, the Federal Ministry of Science, the National Science Foundation (USA), the Department of Energy (USA), NASA, and the German Israeli Foundation for Scientific Research and Development.
